Not too long ago, I picked up my first-ever pair of Golden Goose sneakers (you might remember seeing them in a recent post), and have been asked a lot about them ever since. So many that I decided it was finally time to do a full write-up! I’ve also worn them enough now that I can confidently speak to their craftsmanship, and a variety of other factors about them, which you’ll see me go more into detail about.

How expensive are they?

Are they true to size?

They ran true to size for me — I usually wear a size 6, and I went with a EU 36.

They haven’t stretched at all, so if you’re between sizes, I’d go up

How comfy are they?

They felt good almost immediately. I recommend wearing no-shows, especially since they help with airflow. High-end Italian leather construction, so it’s much more comfortable than breaking in synthetic materials. Plus, they’re already softened so your feet just slide in.

How durable are they?

Since they come pre-distressed, I didn’t worry about wearing them outside. I’ve worn them all over NYC, and they still look great. The laces are intact, and the leather hasn’t stretched. Because they already look worn, I can’t even tell if there’s new wear and tear.

Do they feel better than other shoes?

They’re the highest quality sneakers I have. I love my Vejas and Tretorns, but Golden Goose still come out on top. There’s a secret wedge inside that adds just over an inch — making your legs look longer. Also, they’re not mass-produced, so each pair is custom-feeling. And the glitter on mine? Stunning.

Would you buy again?

Totally! Just try not to pay full price. They’re not cheap, so getting them on sale is worth it. Still, I think they’re worth a few hundred bucks, especially if you get a pair you love. I chose a loud pair, but a neutral version would also be smart.
